Main Sail Log
This is the Main Directory leading to
Day Trip Logs and Pictures
for two small pleasure sailing vessels skippered by Leo Wehrstedt

One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
'Tis the set of sails and not the gales
Which tells us the way to go.

1970  Starcraft Skylark Sailboat
First sailboat purchased in Kenora, Ontario
New Starcraft Skylark 14 foot catamaran type solid hull, Fiberglas, with two lee boards. The craft was extremely stable and easily transported.
The mast was 22 feet in length and made of aircraft aluminum. Rudder and leeboards were also made of aluminum. Hull colour was blue over white.

Sail was number 2941 with a solid red stripe near the top.

The craft was sailed extensively on Lake of the Woods near Kenora until 1973 and was docked at a rented space at a private dock in Norman.
It was raced at Twin Lakes, Wisconsin in 1978 where we took 3rd place in a mixed class event.
Other lakes where it was sailed:
Lake Koshgonong, Wisconsin
Eagle Lake, Ontario
